HOPE Hydration Taps T-Mobile to Power “Smart” Water Refill Stations

In a partnership that combines innovation and hydration, T-Mobile has joined forces with Miami startup HOPE Hydration to revolutionize access to public drinking water through IoT technology.

HOPE Hydration, known for its smart-city water refill stations, has selected T-Mobile as its connectivity and IoT provider for their sustainable HydroStation® technology.

This collaboration is significant because the consumption of bottled water has reached unprecedented levels, causing significant harm to the environment. HOPE aims to modernize access to public drinking water, making clean and filtered water more sustainable and readily available.

The solution offered by HOPE and T-Mobile caters to event organizers, municipalities, and anyone seeking to provide free, clean, and filtered water while minimizing the environmental impact.

HOPE Hydration has officially chosen T-Mobile as its connectivity and IoT provider for operations in the United States. Leveraging T-Mobile’s award-winning network and IoT solutions, HOPE will bring its environmentally sustainable HydroStations to major events and urban hubs nationwide, providing free, filtered, and temperature-controlled drinking water to the masses.

According to the Container Recycling Institute, a staggering 86% of disposable water bottles used in the U.S. end up as litter, contributing billions of bottles to landfills. By partnering with leading cities and collaborators, HOPE aims to reduce waste and ensure global access to free, high-quality drinking water. Recognized with the CES 2023 Smart City Innovation Award, HOPE’s HydroStations dispense touch-free Pentair1 Everpure® filtered and chilled water to help minimize contaminants.

These technologically advanced water refill stations integrate the latest IoT innovations. Thanks to T-Mobile’s support, HOPE can monitor their filling stations in near real-time to ensure proper water temperature and filter quality, track usage and dispensed water volume, calculate plastic and carbon dioxide savings, manage in-unit advertising displays, control settings and maintenance schedules, enable brand partnerships to track sponsorship and sustainability goals and deliver crucial over-the-air firmware and software updates.

Jorge Richardson, Founder and CEO of HOPE Hydration, expressed excitement about the collaboration with T-Mobile, emphasizing their belief that access to free, clean water is a fundamental human right. Richardson sees this partnership as an opportunity to elevate HOPE’s mission and station capabilities while contributing to the development of smart-city solutions for a more sustainable future.

Callie Field, President of T-Mobile Business Group, highlighted the company’s commitment to leveraging its network, scale, and resources for positive impact. Field emphasized the importance of clean, sustainable drinking water for societal and environmental well-being and praised HOPE’s HydroStation technology for its ability to increase access while reducing environmental harm.

Bottom line:

In a significant partnership, T-Mobile has teamed up with HOPE Hydration to revolutionize access to clean drinking water using IoT technology. HOPE’s smart-city water refill stations, powered by T-Mobile’s connectivity and IoT solutions, aim to make sustainable, filtered water easily accessible to the public. By reducing the consumption of disposable water bottles and promoting environmental sustainability, this collaboration addresses the pressing need for clean water while minimizing environmental impact. Both companies share a commitment to creating a more sustainable future, and together they are driving innovation in the field of IoT-enabled water solutions.
