SEMI, Messe München India to Host SEMICON India

The official partnership agreement to host SEMICON India expositions was signed by Messe München India, the Indian subsidiary of Messe München GmbH and a leading organizer of trade fairs in India, and SEMI, the global industry association that helps the semiconductor industry deploy life-changing-tech worldwide and advances growth for 3,000 member companies.

The event will share a location with both Electronica India and Productronica India, forming the largest platform for showcasing the most recent developments in the electronics and semiconductor industries in Southeast Asia. Following the announcements made by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) at Semicon India 2023 in Gandhinagar and later at SEMICON India’s curtain raiser event during Electronica India and Productronica India 2023 in Bengaluru, the collaboration has taken place, signalling a significant stride in advancing India’s domestic semiconductor ecosystem and connecting it to the global industry. Due to its rapidly growing domestic market, the demand for modern electronics, including electric vehicles, and the rapid development of its supply chain for machinery, components, assembly, testing, and many other specialized goods and services, India has become a desirable location for semiconductor manufacturing and sourcing.

According to Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe Muenchen India, “India’s demand for semiconductors is valued at $24 billion today, and this is likely to emerge as a $110 billion opportunity by 2030.” This clarifies the efforts made by international semiconductor firms to join the Indian market. We are thrilled to collaborate with SEMI to present SEMICON India as the hosts of Electronica India and Productronica India, South Asia’s largest trade shows for electronics manufacturing.

Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI, stated: “Given the fundamental strengths of the Indian economy, the government’s India Semiconductor Mission is an open invitation to the world to make and source semiconductors in India.” India possesses every component necessary for success in semiconductor design and manufacturing, including talent accessibility, favourable demand, and policy support. All interested parties are welcome to gather at SEMICON India to create mutually beneficial alliances that will advance India’s ecosystem development. We are therefore thrilled to collaborate with our trusted partner Messe München to host SEMICON India. Through the integration of the upstream and downstream semiconductor value chains, SEMICON India will provide Indian semiconductor and electronics companies with access to the global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing and design supply chain.
