Bharti Airtel partners with Amdocs for 5G and IoT monetization

Amdocs, a renowned provider of software and services to communications and media companies, has announced a strategic collaboration with Bharti Airtel, a leading communications solutions provider in India. The partnership aims to drive the monetization of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) services and enhance the overall end-user customer experience.

A key initiative of this collaboration is the creation of a digital platform by Amdocs, which will automate and digitize various aspects of Airtel’s business operations. Notably, this platform will enable Airtel to offer a single-bundled plan and bill for all its services, with the ultimate goal of elevating customer satisfaction.

Upon implementation, the platform will empower customers subscribed to Airtel Black, an offering that combines multiple accounts into a single Airtel plan. With the aid of this platform, customers will have the flexibility to design their own plans across various Airtel services, including mobile, broadband, and direct-to-home. This transition is expected to provide a seamless and unified customer experience, improve billing accuracy, and optimize business operations. Moreover, it will facilitate ecosystem integration and real-time insights, enabling well-informed decision-making.

Pradipt Kapoor, Chief Information Officer of Bharti Airtel, expressed their commitment to enhancing the customer experience through technology solutions. He stated, “As Airtel transitions from a telco to a techco, we are constantly looking for ways and means to enhance our customer experience with the right use of technology solutions. We are delighted to transition to Amdocs’s converged billing platform as we consolidate our digital architecture and optimize service delivery in critical areas like billing.”

Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs, also shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the benefits that Airtel will gain from state-of-the-art technology. He noted that Airtel’s transition will be facilitated by the platform’s cloud-ready deployment and auto-scaling capabilities, ensuring a flexible and efficient infrastructure.

Bharti Airtel, headquartered in India, is a global communications solutions provider with a vast customer base of over 500 million individuals across 17 countries in South Asia and Africa.
